All summer long, thousands of Tucsonans flocked to Casino Del Sol Resort to participate in the “Million Dollar Summer Explosion,” the casino’s fun and engaging gaming promotion that ran from May 26 to Sept. 7.
If you happened to step foot on the property over the course of those 15 weeks, you were sure to encounter the “Sol Gold Mine,” an elaborate gold mine scene at the entrance of the casino, that made this promotion come to life. Participating players took a ride through the virtual Sol Gold Mine and pressed the game button to “detonate” the dynamite.
This revealed free play, prizes, bandits, varmints, and potential bonus rounds. Additionally, all eligible guests received an entry into the Million Dollar Summer Explosion Game Show Finale. Drawings were held multiple times per day.
Over 100 guests participated in the $1,000,000 Summer Explosion Game Show Finale on Sept 7th and after four rounds of elimination, the remaining six players battled for prizes ranging in value from $10,000 to $1,000,000.
Players had a chance to steal prizes by rolling an oversized die that was labeled with the available winnings. Tucson resident and Club Sol Player’s Club member, Janet Guest was the big winner, taking home $25,000.
“We always strive to provide the best, most creative promotions for our valued players,” said Steve Neely, chief marketing officer for Casino Del Sol Resort. “The Million Dollar Summer Explosion and the subsequent Game Show Finale really elevated our player’s expectations.”
