Mazatzal’s Coffee Korner is now open and proudly serving Peet’s Coffee and Tea just inside the south entrance of Mazatzal Hotel and Casino in Payson. Assorted tasty pastries are also featured at Coffee Korner, baked fresh daily by the in-house bakery staff. The open and inviting café has comfortable chairs and tables in a relaxed setting, featuring two big screen monitors with the latest news and sports entertainment as well as the convenience of WI-FI high speed connectivity to keep guests up to date on their
lap tops or smart phones.
“I actually have been a coffee buff for quite some time,” said Joss Smith, Mazatzal’s Coffee Korner Barista Supervisor. Smith gave a quick history of Peet’s Coffee and Tea while this reporter sat with several new customers. “I know a lot about coffee, probably too much!” quipped Smith. Smith has been a barista for 12 years, and along with the rest of the staff, trained closely and extensively with the Peet’s representatives. The menu features brewed coffees, espresso beverages, teas and cocoas as well as iced classics, blended beverages and the ever popular smoothies, made to order.
“It’s almost a tie,” replied Smith when asked about the most popular item on the menu. The front runners include, the brewed coffee of the day, which could be any one of a number of special blends including Major Dickason’s, Costa Rica, Sumatra, Gaia, an organic blend and Café Domingo a medium roast coffee. The blended beverage Caramel Frio and with Chai Tea are also in the running for the most popular items. Since it opened to the public on August 23rd – one thing is for certain, at Mazatzal’s Coffee Korner, every cup’s a winner!
